VIJAYAWADA: Members of the city unit of LIC Insurance Corporation Employees' Union on Tuesday staged a lunch-hour demonstration in front of their office at Swarnalok Complex, in support of their demands. Earlier, they took out a procession and raised slogans against "the anti-people" policies of the Cental Government. They said recruitment of staff was stopped for the past 15 years and sought its revial. They also took strong exception to the outsourcing policy of the authorities. Observing the day as `All India Demands Day' the union's joint secretary M.N. Patrudu pointed out that recruitments were stopped but the number of policies had increased manifold. This had resulted in heavy workload on the employees.
