KOLLAM: A 57-year-old man committed suicide by setting himself ablaze after administering poison in milk to his two daughters and 80-year-old mother-in-law at Kalluvathukkal on Tuesday morning. Seeing Janardhanan Niar setting himself ablaze, his mothering-law Bhargavi's 70-year-old younger sister Karthiyani had a heart failure and died. The elder daughter, Ashwini (24), died soon after consuming the poison-mixed milk.
In serious condition
The younger daughter, Ashwathy (18), and Bhargavi are in a serious condition in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. They were rushed to the hospital by the police after being alerted by neighbours. The police believe that Janardhanan Nair could have administered poison to the three women without their knowledge.
