KANNUR: A legal presidium, comprising 15 lawyers from Bars in the district, was formed to coordinate legal initiatives of the Kannur District Environment Samithi. A press release by the samithi here recently said the objectives of the constitution of the presidium included intervention in increasing cases of environmental violations and offering legal aid to people's struggles for survival. The release said that complaints and grievances of individuals and organisations on environmental issues could be put in the complaint boxes at the samithi's Prakrithi Chikitsa Kendram here or informed over ph: 9447 089027.
