Medical services hit in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: Medical services were affected in the Union Territory of Chandigarh on Tuesday with the medical students, resident doctors and para-medical staff going on strike in protest against the Centre's move to introduce quotas for the Other Backward Classesin educational institutions. Specialists and senior doctors manned emergency services and OPDs at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research and the Sector 32 Government Medical College and Hospital as senior and junior resident doctors joined the strike.

Reports from Haryana said that students of Mullana Medical College blocked the Ambala-Hardwar highway.
