KARIMNAGAR : Union Bank of India Deputy General Manager C. Abraham has said the bank did a record business of Rs. 1.30 lakh crores, including Rs. 75,000 crores as deposits and Rs. 55,000 crores as loans, during the last financial year. Participating in the north Telangana districts UBI branch managers' meeting here on Tuesday, the DGM said that during this current year the bank set a target of achieving a business of Rs. 1.5 lakh crores. He also said that the bank announced 35 per cent dividend to its shareholders.
Loan distribution
Against the deposits of Rs. 130 crores in Karimnagar district, the bank distributed loans to the tune of Rs. 125 crores, including 88 per cent loans to the agriculture sector. The Karimnagar branch had also provided financial assistance to over 3,000 women self-help groups. The DGM extended financial aid of Rs. 20 lakhs to 20 women self-help groups of Nagunur, Teegalaguttapalli and Arepalli villages of Karimnagar mandal.
