GUNTUR: The former chairman of the Guntur Cooperative Urban Bank MSK Narayana Rao at press conference here on Tuesday claimed that the High Court had dismissed the nominated governing body of the bank and thus he was the chairman of the bank again. He claimed that T. Laksmi Narayana, the current CEO, had filed "a false case" against him in the Arundelpet Police Station, but had handed over the charge to him. Due to allegations from May 2004 over running of the bank by last governing body, it was dismissed on July 7, 2004, by the Cooperative Registrar. A new body was nominated by the Government with T. Lakshmi Narayana. Mr. Narayana Rao claimed that he challenged it in court and the petition was heard on April 25, 2006, dissolving the nominated committee. The nominated body can now appeal over the order of the High Court.
