Action sought against units violating fire safety norms

HYDERABAD: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Tuesday demanded that the State Government initiate action against the managements of industries and factories, which were not adhering to the fire safety norms. State President R. Sudha Bhaskar and General Secretary S. Veeraiah, in a statement, expressed dismay after the Fire Services Department declared that 1,330 industries and factories as potential death traps. He reminded that the Government failed to take action against IDL management after an explosion occurred on the factory premises in 2004 claiming more than five lives.
