HYDERABAD: Indian School of Business here has increased its student intake by 20 per cent for the current Class of 2007. The class, comprising all working professionals, has 418 students as compared to 345 students in the previous class.
Scholarships
The average GMAT score of the current class has increased to 706 from 694 of the previous class and this is comparable to the scores of students at the world's top B-Schools, according to ISB dean M. Rammohan Rao. Several students of the current class have rejected offers from B-schools in USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Singapore and have, instead, chosen to study at the ISB. These include Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia Business School, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Purdue University, INSEAD, University of California - Los Angeles and National University of Singapore. The ISB, on its part, has offered scholarships worth Rs. 1.67 crores to meritorious and deserving students right at the time of their admission to the ISB. In a press release, Prof. Rao said another highlight of the new class was the significant increase in the number of women students. The number of women students went up to 87 from 67 last year, represented 20 per cent of the class and this was comparable to some of the leading European B-schools.
