KOCHI: The All-India Coordination Committee of Unions in the Financial Sector observed anti-outsourcing day on Tuesday. The employees in banking and insurance sectors participated in the protest. The employees demanded that the move to introduce outsourcing in banking and insurance sectors be abandoned. They also sought recruitment to existing vacancies. The outsourcing was being planned in clearinghouse operations and currency management services, according to employees in the banking sector. Similarly, the introduction of third party administrators in the general insurance was part of the outsourcing move, according to insurance sector employees. Demonstrations were held before offices of the LIC, GIC, Reserve Bank and various banks.
