Anticipatory bail for LIS officials

Kochi: The High Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to the chairman, managing partner and other senior officials of LIS Investments, the Kochi-based private financial institution.

Justice K. Thankappan granted anticipatory bail to chairman P.V. Chacko, managing partner Annamma Chacko and officials Linu Joy, Vinod V. Luka and C.G. Ramesh and ordered that in the event of arrest they should be released on executing a bail bond for Rs.15,000 with two solvent sureties for the like sum.

The police have registered cases against them under Prize Chits and Money Circulation Prohibition Act. The court adjourned to May 19, another writ petition filed by Mr. Chacko and Ms. Annamma Chacko, seeking to quash the notice issued by the police preventing them from conducting business, for counter-affidavit by the police. — UNI
