BANGALORE: The city police have arrested two youths on charges of murdering a woman and her two children in New Tharagupet police station limits on May 8.

Police gave the names of the accused as Irfan Hussein (20) and Mukhtiar (18), residents of Padarayanapura, Gori Palya. Police said the two had committed the murder for gain. On May 8, Ayesha Banu (22), wife of Shabbir Ahmed Qureshi, and her two children Faraz (3) and Mahaz (1) were found dead with their throats slit at their residence in Nizamuddin Mohalla. Cash, jewellery and a mobile phone were missing from the residence. Initially, police suspected Shabbir, who was running a chicken stall, for having committed the offence.

Police got the clue about the accused when they used the mobile phone of the deceased, and nabbed them on May 15. Police have recovered Rs. 48,000 cash, the jewellery stolen from Shabbir's house and the mobile phone.
