BDA to discuss Arkavathy Layout by month-end

BANGALORE: The Arkavathy layout issue will be placed before the Bangalore Development Authority's Board of Directors at the end of this month, officials said. The meeting that was initially scheduled for May 16 was postponed because BDA Commissioner M.K. Shankaralinge Gowda, who took over from M.N. Vidyashankar less than a month ago, is yet to finish inspecting the land that has been contested by landowners and revenue site owners. Of the 2,750 acres notified for the layout, nearly 748 acres is in dispute. There are 1,424 aggrieved landowners, the majority of whom are revenue site owners, seeking exclusion of their land from the acquisition process.
