NEW DELHI: Three persons, including a woman, have been arrested by the North-East Delhi police for allegedly kidnapping and killing a man who had been missing since March 12. The Mansarovar Park police had received a complaint on March 14 about Paramjeet Singh who had told his family members that he was going to Hardwar for a day but never returned. His family suspected involvement of his girlfriend Anjana and her accomplices. On March 13, Paramjeet's body was recovered from Mansurpur in Muzzffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Investigations revealed that Paramjeet, Anjana, her boyfriend Sanjeev, and his cousins, Rajiv and Ravinder, were last seen together at a petrol pump in Khatauli, Muzzffarnagar, on March 12 night. Following investigations, the police arrested Anjana, Sanjeev and Ravinder at Ropar in Punjab this past Saturday. They were planning to shift to Mohali. During interrogation, Anjana allegedly told the police that she was having an affair with Sanjeev for the past six months. Sanjeev, who had run into losses after taking up some contracts in Uttaranchal, had told Anjana to be on the lookout for somebody who could be kidnapped for ransom. In March, Anjana told Sanjeev that her friend Paramjeet, who had a scrap business in Shahdara, could be a good prospect for the same. As per plan, on March 12, Anjana called up Paramjeet to meet her at Apsara border. When Paramjeet reached there in his Santro car, she coaxed him into going to Hardwar for a long drive. Paramjeet agreed and informed his family members about the same. On the way to Haridwar he bought liquor. While returning, Anjana mixed sedatives in his drinks. When he reached near Khatauli, Paramjeet began feeling dizzy and met with a minor accident. Anjana then asked him to stop and called up Sanjeev. Sanjeev and the other accused met her at a petrol pump around 11 p.m. They then drove Paramjeet's car to a house and tied him up. Some time later, he regained consciousness and began shouting. The accused then killed him fearing that his screams might wake up the neighbours. They then wrapped his body in sheets and quilts and dumped in a field in Mansurpur.
