Awards to be presented

KOCHI: Socialist Samskara Kendra has decided to honour people who have excelled in their fields. V.S. Achuthanandan, Dr. Santhakumar, Kamala Suraiyya, Sabu Chacko, Gokulam Gopalan, Yousuf Ali, M. Sivanandan, and S.Baby Mathew would be given Mother Teresa awards, Dancer Thampi, kendra president, said.

Jose Prakash, Janardhanan, T.G. Ravi, Lalu Alex, Mala Aravindan, Kunchan, Prem Prakash, Kaithapram Nampoothiry, Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Mallika Sukumaran would be given Pappanamkode Lakshmanan award. The function will be held at 4.30 p.m. on May 18 at the St. Mercy Home. V.R. Krishna Iyer, former judge of Supreme Court, would present the awards, Mr. Thampi said. The award for Mr. Achuthanandan has been presented to him, said Mr. Thampi.
