TO KEEP WELCOMING TOURISTS: Foreign tourists enjoying a sunset from a boat off Fort Kochi. Kerala's tourism industry is facing stiff competition from foreign destinations that have reduced airfares. Lack of direct flights to the State from many desti nations is another problem. The inflow of foreign tourists is expected to grow at a rate of 20 to 25 per cent with demand for Ayurveda gaining popularity among foreign tourists, say studies by the Confederation of India Industry. — Photo: K.K.
