KURNOOL: Four persons were killed when an Express train rammed into an autorickshaw at an unmanned level-crossing between Mantralayam and Kosigi in Kurnool district on Wednesday. One person received serious injuries in the accident. According to reports, the Dadar-bound Express train (1064) from Chennai hit an autorickshaw at Irangal village around 4.30 p.m. The train dragged the auto to a distance of 500 metres and smashed it beyond recognition. Three of the victims were identified as Ramakrishna (30), Nagaraju (28) and Gundappa (32). Another person was yet to be identified. An injured person G. Bheemdu was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. The victims were travelling by the auto to transport an electric pump set to the field when they were struck with the tragedy at the level-crossing.
