Special Correspondent
Pondicherry: The New Justice Party (NJP) has expressed confidence that the incoming Congress government to be led by N. Rangasamy will keep its promises given during the recent Assembly elections. The party's Pondicherry unit president, S. Ponnurangam, in a release here on Tuesday, said the verdict returning the Congress was an indication that the people had reposed faith in the new dispensation. Mr. Ponnurangam expressed the hope that the new government would measure up to the expectations of the people. He felicitated Mr. Rangasamy and thanked the people for voting the Democratic Progressive Alliance to form the government. The Congress is a constituent of the DPA. The NJP supported the DPA during the polls and withdrew from contest.
