Gets College with Potential for Excellence tag

UGC has selected colleges based on 48 parameters
Fifty colleges have been selected in the country

College plans to introduce new courses and establish research cell

HUBLI: KLE Society's P.C. Jabin Science College, Hubli, has become the first college affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad, to be recognised as "College with Potential for Excellence" (CPE).

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Shankaranna Munavalli, chairman's nominee, KLE Society, and D.M. Kotturshettar, Principal of the college, said the college was one among five colleges in the State that have been recognised as CPE.

Mr. Munavalli said the Standing Committee of University Grants Commission has selected these colleges after ascertaining the quality of these educational institutions based on 48 parameters.

The college is now eligible to get a financial assistance of Rs. 60 lakh to Rs. 1 crore for undertaking various education development measures.
