MANGALORE: Bharatiya Samudaya Seva Parishat, Azadnagar, Ullal, has urged the district administration and the police to reconsider the decision to ban autorickshaws with Zone II permit from entering Zone I areas. Nazir Ullal, president of the parishat, said in a press release here on Tuesday that people from Ullal, Talapady, Konaje, Gurupur and Mulki, most of whom were economically backward, often used autorickshaws as a mode of transport. The ban would affect them badly, he said. Mr. Ullal urged the authorities to permit autorickshaws with Zone II permits to enter Zone I on the condition that they will not park their vehicles there or pick up passengers. These autorickshaws should be permitted to ferry passengers from Zone II into Zone I, he added.
