MADURAI: A Judicial Magistrate Court here on Tuesday dismissed a case against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M. Karunanidhi, relating to a complaint of attempt to create differences between two caste groups. The Magistrate, S. Elangovan, said that the charges levelled by A. Periasamy, an advocate from Madurai, were not maintainable. Referring to an election meeting at Usilampatti addressed by Mr. Karunanidhi on April 23, the advocate said that his speech was "intended" to cause a major caste conflict between two communities and disharmony in the southern districts.
