Road project: plea to complete land acquisition

KOCHI: The District Administration should acquire and handover the land required for the completion of the Sahodaran Ayyappan Road project, said C.K. Manisankar, Deputy Mayor.

Referring to media reports that appeared in this regard, Mr. Manisankar on Wednesday pointed out that the civic body had entrusted Rs.4.60 crores required for acquiring the land with the District Administration before March 31. The City Corporation decided to invoke the urgency clause for acquiring the land as all attempts to get the land released through amicable measures failed in the case of a few landlords, he said. The District Administration should complete all the legal formalities and evict the holders from the land and entrust the holdings to the Corporation, he said.
