NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi continued its demolition action in the Capital on Wednesday. It also sealed 192 properties in pursuance of the orders of the Supreme Court. However, the civic body was unable to remove some unauthorised constructions at the residential premises of BJP Chief Whip Sahib Singh Chauhan in the Shahdara zone in the wake of fierce resistance by his supporters. In its drive against unauthorised construction and removal of encroachments from public land, MCD initiated major action at Sector 17 in Rohini. In Pocket B-1, shops and rooms constructed on public land were demolished outside houses No. 17, 21, 29, 32, 37, 40, 45, 99, 100, 109, 117, 125 and 126. Similarly in Pocket B-2, shops and rooms were demolished at houses No. 1, 3, 9, 12, 17, 18, 25, 26, 59, 60, 71, 72, 80, 82, 92, 97, 101, 227, 233 and 234. During the day, as many as 98 properties were sealed at Civil Lines and the operation was completed from Azadpur Chowk to Prem Badi railway line in Adarsh Nagar. In Central Zone 16 properties were sealed and operation was completed in South Extension one. Likewise in Karol Bagh the sealing of 10 properties was done and operations were completed at Saraswati Marg.
