BANGALORE: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti has distanced himself from the imbroglio in the announcement of the results of the pre-university examination saying, "I have no moral authority to announce the date." He was questioned at a press conference here on Thursday about the delay in announcing the results. The Pre-University Board failed for the third time on Wednesday to announce the results and attributed the delay to a technical snag in the software developed by the National Informatics Centre. The Minister said the software would be set right soon by a Chennai-based company. However, Mr. Horatti was forthcoming when it came to the question of the transfer of teachers.
Counselling
He said that counselling for transfers would begin on Friday at the offices of Deputy Directors of Public Instruction and would be completed by May 25. The offices of Education Commissioners in Dharwad, Gulbarga and Bangalore would handle the transfer requests of non-teaching staff. The transfers would be limited to five per cent of the total teaching staff. No transfer would be made after May 25, the Minister said.
