BANGALORE: With only two days left for The Hindu Opportunities Job Fair to begin, the event venue Trade Centre Bangalore at Export Promotion Industrial Park in Whitefield Industrial Area is on the threshold of a big rush on Saturday and Sunday. Last year, 45,000 candidates queued up for the fair, and this year, the crowd turnout could be even bigger this year. To help the candidates reach the venue, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will operate special services. The special buses will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. between the venue and Kempe Gowda bus stand, Shivajinagar bus stand, K.R. Market and Marathhalli. Organised by The Hindu and with Cognizant as the event sponsor, The Hindu Opportunities Job Fair is all about generating more employment opportunities. Individuals over 20 years of age, graduates, postgraduates and professional with two to 10 years experience can apply to this event. The fair had turned out to be a big hit with job aspirants last year. To register, the interested candidates could browse the net for (www.thehindu.com) or (www.tmifirst.com /hf6/index. aspx). Once registered, the candidates could look forward to a rewarding fair, featuring short-listing of candidates, tests, interviews and eventual recruitment. Look out for big brand companies from the Information Technology (IT) and IT-Enabled Services (ITES). Here's a glimpse of what happens after a candidate registers for the fair. For professionals with less than two years' experience, the participating companies will pre-screen the registered CVs of the graduates or postgraduates including engineering stream. Invitations will be sent to the candidates, whose profiles match with those of the companies' requirements. The candidates will be allowed entry only based on the invitations sent by the participating firms. Professionals with two to 10 years' experience could register anytime before the end of the event. They could simply walk into the job fair along with the printout of the registration confirmation form.
