Cook's ship found?

New York: One of four 18th-century ships found on the sea bed off Rhode Island could be the Endeavour, the vessel Captain Cook commanded on his first epic voyage across the Pacific Ocean, say U.S. archaeologists. Marine experts have found the remains of four cargo ships scuttled by the British in 1778 in an effort to hold off American and French forces advancing on Newport. They belonged to a fleet of 13 ships deliberately sunk by the British, one of which was the Lord Sandwich, which the Endeavour is believed to have been renamed.
