ALAPPUZHA: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Mavelikkara 8(K) battalion will hold its annual training camp at Travancore Devaswom Board's Pampa College here from May 19 to May 30, said Lt. Col. Aswini Sudhan, administrative officer of the Battalion. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Lt. Col. Sudhan said as many as 600 cadets, including 200 girl cadets, would attend the camp. Lt. Col. Sukhpal Singh would be the commanding officer of the camp. The cadets would be given training in weapons, firing, drill and various Army subjects, including leadership tactics, field craft and battle craft. Lt. Col. Sudhan said the cadets would be given an opportunity to exhibit their talents in the cultural fields too. Cadets who perform well at the camp would be selected for training for the Republic Day camp-2007, he said.
