Congress activist's house torched

ANANTAPUR: The house of a Congress activist was allegedly torched by his TDP rivals at Dharmapuram village in Pedda Pappur mandal of the district in the wee hours of Wednesday. Property worth Rs. 3 lakhs was reduced to ashes in the incident.

According to the police, Nagesh is an active worker of the Congress in the village and has been planning to contest the forthcoming local bodies' elections from the village. Nagesh told the police that two Congress activists had joined the TDP recently.
