Kakinada: Bank of India will open 10 new branches in Visakhapatnam zone comprising seven coastal districts from Srikakulam to Guntur during in the next couple of years, said DVSK Murthy, Zonal Manager, Visakhapatnam, on Thursday. Addressing a press conference, he said, five of them would come up in East and West Godavari districts of which one would be at Kakinada and another at Amalapuram. During last year, he said, the bank had made a net profit of Rs.41 crores in Visakhapatnam zone and proposed to increase it to Rs.51 crores during current year. Mr Murthy said they had proposed to provide credit of Rs.300 crores of which Rs. 180 crores would be for agriculture sector and Rs.50 crores for small-scale sector during current year. Bank Madhura Nagar branch Manager MS Murthy also attended.
