Mango Mela from May 27

The mango crop may have been a bit poor this year owing to unseasonal rain during the flowering season. But the Horticulture Department is going ahead and holding the annual "Mango Mela" at Lalbagh from May 27 to June 2. The department is providing 32 stalls free of cost to mango growers from Bangalore Rural District, Kolar, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Mysore and Mandya. Mango-processing industries, self-help groups who deal with mango products and small enterprises will participate in the fair along with the growers. Considering the shortfall in production, the department will fix the price for the fruit.
