PNB net profit at Rs. 1,439 cr.

MUMBAI: Punjab National Bank has reported a net profit of Rs. 1,439 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, against Rs. 1,410 crore in the previous year. Total income has increased to Rs.10,815 crore from Rs. 10,135 crore. The operating profit has increased to Rs. 2,874.77 crore from Rs. 2,702.21 crore. Interest earned on advances has risen to Rs. 5,341.46 crore from Rs. 4,246.12 crore and on investments to Rs. 4,030.34 crore from Rs. 3,974.05 crore.
