SALEM: The Tamil Nadu Government Doctors Association has said it will resort to agitation to support the Government's decision to implement reservation for the Other Backward Classes in higher educational institutions. Referring to the protest by a group of medical students and doctors against the OBC reservation, association president K. Prakasam said here on Friday that if need be, the association would launch an agitation for the OBC reservation. Dr. Prakasam wanted the State Government to regularise the appointment of doctors and paramedical staff in government hospitals, which were earlier made on contract. Instead of opening new medical colleges, the Government should tone up the infrastructure of all its medical college hospitals and enhance the student intake. He urged the Government to fill the vacancies for the post of Deans in the medical college hospitals.
