Chennai: The success story of music director Deva continues in its 20th year. The man who began with producing devotional cassettes and entered filmdom through `Maattukkara Mannaaru,' has so far done 400 movies in all south Indian languages.

He scored music for all the south Indian top heroes' films, including three films of Kamal Hassan ("Avvai Shanmugi" "Pancha Thandiram" and "Pammal K. Sammandam") and equal number of films for Rajinikanth ("Basha," "Annamalai" and "Arunachalam"). Now he has more than a dozen films in hand. He is also a good singer of popular ghana songs.

Alandur Fine Arts and Shristi School of Fine Arts are organising a function at Kamarajar Arangam on Sunday to honour him. Singers, introduced by Deva, including Srinivas, Karthik, Krishnaraj, Manikavinayagam, Sujatha, Harini, Thipu, Malathi and Anuradha Sriram, will sing on the stage. Deva is also going to sing some of his ghana songs for the audience. For details contact the organisers at 98400 77987.
