Rajiv Gandhi remembered

PAYING HOMAGE: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party MP and son, Rahul Gandhi, at Vir Bhumi, in New Delhi, on the 15th death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi on Sunday.

NEW DELHI: The nation today gratefully remembered the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, on his 15th death anniversary hailing him as an embodiment of secularism and harbinger of scientific and Information Technology revolution in the country.

Leaders at various functions across the country described him as a source of inspiration for the youth and torchbearer of peace and communal amity.

Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi led the nation in paying rich tributes to the departed leader who symbolised the fight against terror.

Mr. Shekhawat, Dr. Singh and Ms. Gandhi offered floral tributes to him at Vir Bhoomi. — PTI
