VIJAYAWADA: Over 200 players, including many International Masters, would take part in Sri Satyadeva Fide-rated chess tournament, which begins at Annavaram from May 22 to 29, said East Godavari Chess Association secretary Kalyan Kumar on Sunday. IMs Verghese Koshy (ONGC), N.K. Mishra, P.D.S. Girinadh, Abhijit Gupta, Shekhar Sahu, Ravi Hegde, R. Bandhopadyaya, and S. Saha along with World under-9 champion Prathusha of Tuni will take part. Organising secretary of the tournament Seetharam said the prize money for the tournament would be Rs.3 lakh and the winner would get Rs.50,000." The first round begins on May 23 at 9 a.m.
