Jai Bhagwan goes down fighting

Karachi: Indian boxer Jai Bhagwan went down fighting to Asian Games silver medallist Asghar Ali in the second match of the inaugural Tasaadum boxing series at the Karachi Port Trust Sports Complex.

Jai Bhagwan went down 11-32 to the Pakistan captain in the lightweight division that kept the bilateral series alive after the two countries were level at 1-1.

However, Bhagwan did not go without a fight, as the score-line might suggest.

The Indian fought hard but was unable to match the precision of his more accomplished opponent, who used his vast experience in an action-packed bout on Saturday. — PTI
