THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Manipur won the overall title in the 26th National junior taekwondo championships, which concluded at the Jimmy George indoor stadium on Sunday. Manipur, which won both the boys and girls' titles, finished with 124 points followed by Maharashtra (79). Manipur won two out of the three gold medals on the final day in the girls' competition. It was Tamil Nadu's Malini Devi, gold in light heavy category, who prevented a clean sweep by Manipur. The results (finals): Boys: Flyweight (between 45-48kg): Avinash Panchal (Maharashtra) bt Phurba Sherpa (Sikkim) 3-2; Lightweight (between 55-59kg): Abdul Mobin Khan (Uttar Pradesh) bt Kumar S. Choudhary (Jharkhand) 7-0; Light heavy (between 73-78kg): Mohd. Salman (Uttar Pradesh) bt P.C. Lalsangliana (Mizoram) 1-1 (by technical superiority) Girls: Flyweight (between 42-44kg): O.Wangoleima Chanu (Manipur) bt Kavitha S. Adi (Karnataka) 8-4; Light weight (between 49-52kg): L. Asha Devi (Manipur) bt Ritu Malik (Haryana) 5-3; Light Heavy (between 63-68kg): K. Malini Devi (TN) bt N. Sanajaobi Devi (Manipur) 1-0. Team championships: Overall: 1. Manipur (124 points), 2.
