Jalandhar: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Shamsher Singh Dullo on Sunday said he had recommended the party high command take disciplinary action against CWC Member and former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar for his "utterances" against the Chief Minister over Reliance land transfer issue. Talking to reporters here, Mr Dullo said that he had written to the party President Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Janardan Poojari, suggesting disciplinary action against Mr Brar. He clarified that Mr Brar is a CWC member and therefore the PCC itself could not initiate any action against him. He said Mr. Brar had made undue hue and cry in public over the Reliance land transfer issue which had rendered damage to the party in an election year and had breached the party discipline. The PCC chief said that if Mr. Brar found something wrong he could have approached him (Mr Dullo) or Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to put forth his view point. "Indiscipline would not be tolerated in the party at any level," Mr Dullo stressed. Mr Dullo said that the rallies being organised by Mr. Brar at some places were also against party discipline and Congress workers are expected not to participate in them. He cautioned that appropriate action would be taken against party workers, if they participated in these rallies. Mr. Brar had indulged in public statements against the Chief Minister in protest against the land transfer to Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) for setting up agricultural hubs in the State. Earlier Mr. Dullo had suspended three Brar supporters for making "anti-party" statements. He also served show cause notices to two ministers and a parliamentary secretary for counter campaign against Mr Brar. Mr Dullo said that those ministers who had been served with show cause notices for making counter propaganda against Mr Brar are also required to submit their explaination within the given time of 10 days. Meanwhile, the State Congress chief also clarified that the land was not being given to RIL free of cost and that the proposal was yet to be approved by the state Cabinet. He assured that all transparency would be observed in this matter and the Chief Minister himself would take the people in confidence over the issue. -- UNI
