New Delhi: Delhi Government is devising modalities to increase remuneration of part time Urdu and Punjabi teachers. Speaking in a function organised to commemorate silver jubilee of Urdu Academy Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday said her government was devising modalities to increase remuneration of part time Urdu and Punjabi teachers. Describing Urdu as a rich and sweet language, she said both the languages had already been given official states of second official language by the State Government. She added that there would be no dearth of money in imparting and popularising Urdu in Delhi. Ms. Dikshit presented mementos to all former Vice-Presidents of Urdu Academy and released a special souvenir brought on the occasion of silver jubilee of the Academy. Delhi Transport Minister Haroon Yusuf, Indian Ambassador in Angola Meena Afzal and Chairman Sahitaya Academy Gopi Chand Narand were also present. Noted Singer Peenaz Masani presented number of ghazals.
