Chennai: A group of air hostess aspirants got a first-hand feel of their on board duties during an in-flight exposure session organised by the Air Hostess Academy (AHA) here. In all, 105 students of AHA were on board a charter plane. During the session, the students were shown around the domestic airport by the ground staff of the airline.
Operational aspects
The exposure took the students through the depths of operational aspects of the airline industry by showing them the check-in area, check-in procedure, working of the X-ray machines and the security hold area. They were briefed about the objectionable items, which cannot be cleared at the security, and to whom the items should be handed over. The students were shown the interior of the aircraft and certain security procedures in case of emergency. The students were made familiar with all the duties and responsibilities of the airhostess and flight steward, which include serving passengers and informing them about emergency exit.
Better understanding
"The in-flight exposure is given to all one-year and two-year diploma students, where they get practical exposure of what they learn in their aviation classes. This type of exposure helps students to gain confidence and a better understanding of the subject," said Sapna Gupta, Founder and Chief Consultant, AHA.
