NEW DELHI: Two cases of suicide were reported from different parts of the Capital on Sunday. A 32-year-old police constable allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substances at Daryaganj in Central Delhi, while a doctor's case was reported from Bhajanpura in North-East Delhi. The constable, Rakesh Kumar, who was posted with a PCR van at Ansari Road in the Daryaganj area, had consumed sulphas around 9-45 a.m. He was rushed to Sanjeevan Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Inquest proceedings have been initiated. A 40-year-old doctor allegedly committed suicide at his Bhajanpura residence in North-East Delhi in the early hours of Sunday. The police recovered a suicide note in which the doctor had written that he was depressed as he had been falsely implicated in a case. Chaudhary Vijender was found hanging from the ceiling by his family members. In the suicide note, he wrote that the police had recently raided his factory at his native place in Uttar Pradesh, being run by another person. The police found some minors working there, following which a case was registered, and Vijender was also booked. He came out on bail, but was depressed, due to which he took the drastic step.
