Over the years, Kerala Tourism has been looking for a brand ambassador to promote its tourism products. Jayaram was roped in as the brand ambassador for the Vazhiyooram project and Bollywood actors like Smrithi Irani known as "Amitabh Bachchan of TV" and "Nine p.m. girl" Mona Vasu to promote tourism destinations among the upmarket clientele among domestic tourists. The authorities are now trying to rope in "Big B" and Aishwarya Rai as brand ambassadors of Kerala Tourism. Although the tourism authorities are tight-lipped, the arrival of "Big B" in Munnar for shooting in Ram Gopal Varma's film Nishabd has fuelled speculation in tourism circles about the new role of Amitabh Bachchan.
