Act tough

While the editorial, `The Lashkar's message' (May 23), is welcome, it is also a fact that the militants know what the Indian Government's reaction to their actions will be. We should send a tough, practical message to them and totally ignore totally the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, which is certainly not a representative body of the people of Kashmir, or be reconciled to reconcile to the fact that innocent Kashmiris will continue to fall victim to acts of terror. The peace process should not be reduced to a joke.

M.K.D. Prasada Rao,
