PONDICHERRY: Six higher secondary schools in the private sector attained cent per cent in the Plus Two exams and overall 74.15 per cent of the students passed in the results announced on Monday. The pass percentage was 2.13 per cent higher than that in last year. The six private schools are Petit Seminaire, St. Joseph of Cluny Girls, Alpha Matriculation, Maruti Matriculation, Crescent English Arabic and Sri Sankara Vidyashram. Three government schools registered more than 90 per cent pass and Sucilabai Girls Higher Secondary School tops the list with 98.81 per cent. Ashwini Padmaja R. and Bhavana R. of St. Joseph Cluny have shared the first rank by securing 1,182 marks. The second rank has also gone to the same school with Anitha S. securing 1,178 marks. Nishanth G. of St. Patrick scored 1,176 and got the third spot. The fourth rank has gone to St. Joseph Cluny. Sulekha S. and Poonkhothai Pillay S. shared the honour by securing 1,173 marks. Out of the 4,154 boys appeared, 73.45 per cent passed the exam. Out of the 4,867 girls who appeared, 74.75 passed the exams. In the government schools, girls performed better than boys. While 68.38 per cent of the girls passed, only 65.07 boys came out successful. Compared to Pondicherry, students from government schools in Karaikal performed better.
