Billed as the country's first art magazine on the Internet, www.mattersofart.com will be formally launched with a weeklong group exhibition titled "Real 2006" at Visual Arts Gallery here beginning this coming Thursday. Conceived primarily as the coming together of art critics, curators, collectors and art connoisseurs from across the country who want to lend support to the one-of-its-kind art magazine, the exhibition features various artists including Anil Dayanand, B. M. Kamath, Babu Xavier, Bose Krishnamachari, Bindu Mehra, Binoy Verghese, Chintan Upadhyay, Dharmendra Rathore and George Martin. "Artists who are 50-year-old and below and work towards establishing a new aesthetics in a rapidly changing Indian contemporary art context are part of the show," said Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of mattersofart.com Anoop Kamath. To keep the net surfer in touch with today's fast-moving art world, www.mattersofart.com will be updated on the first and 15th of every month. In addition to the extensive review section covering exhibitions held in all major centres of the country, the website contains regular features on new-age art, art investment and legal issues pertaining to art.
Among the many artists, curators, critics and art historians who have written for the website are Ranjit Hoskote, R. Sivakumar and M. Ramachandran.
