HYDERABAD: The Rajiv Gandhi Federation Cup boxing championship to be organised by AP Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of Indian Amateur Boxing Federation will be held at RRC Grounds here from May 25 to 28, according to A.K. Karunakaran, tournament director. Briefing media here on Tuesday, Karunakaran said that the line-up included the Commonwealth Games gold medallist Akhil Kumar (bantamweight) and silver medallist Virender(Lt welter). The championship assumes significance as the Indian probables to attend the preparatory camp for the Doha Asian Games would be picked based on the performances here Former national champion Venkatesham has announced a cash incentive of Rs. 5,000 for the best boxer of the meet.
