HYDERABAD: T.N. Pradeep of New Club of Secunderabad defeated Ashok Gupta of Nizam Club of Hyderabad 100-52, 100-25 in the preliminary round of the inaugural Nizam Club inter-club billiards tournament on Tuesday.

The results: John Bosco (APSBA) bt Ashar Raoof (NCH) 100-60, 100-33; Muqtar Ali Khan (NCH) bt D. Prakash (NCH) 100-50, 65-100, 100-39; Tarun Gupta (JHIC) bt Raziuddin (NCH) 100-40, 100-85.

Urmila moves up

G. Urmila defeated Ayushi Dhar 8-0 in the girls' under-14 third round of the AP State-ranking tennis tournament here.

DRDL defeated PXE (Balasore) 3-0 in the preliminary round of the DRDO Central Zone carrom tournament here.

Andhra Pradesh volleyball teams to take part in the Youth National championship to be held in Bangalore from May 25 to 30 were announced here on Tuesday.
