CHITTOOR: A novel scheme of appointing vidya volunteers to welfare hostels was introduced in the district. The training programme for the hostel vidya volunteers was inaugurated by Collector S.S. Rawath here on Tuesday. He said that 579 hostel vidya volunteers had been selected for the appointment of three volunteers to each of 179 hostels. Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Raghuram, said that the training for the vidya volunteers would be given at Madanapalli, Chittoor and Tirupati.
