LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Tuesday directed all the private medical units in the State to register or renew their registrations by May 30. Director, State Medical and Health Department, M P Bansal, said the decision had been taken in context of an Allahabad High Court ruling. Mr. Bansal said these private medical units should register themselves with the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of respective districts. ``After the expiry of the period, any medical practice by these units would be deemed as illegal and action taken as per the Medical Council Act and Indian Penal Code provisions,'' he warned.
