Jawahar Knowledge Centre praised

IT giants like Satyam, Infosys likely to recruit students in July A team from IEG took classes both for the students and teachers in JKC

GUNTUR: A team from Institute of Electronic Governance (IEG) visited the Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) at the Government College for Women in Guntur and expressed satisfaction on the progress of the students at the centre.

The team, consisting of IEG Incharge of communication skills, master mentor Carole Beauclera and lecturer Aruna Chaluvadi visited JKC at Begumpet Women's College in Hyderabad under a two-day visit. They conducted sessions for the students, along with taking classes for the teachers and evaluate their teaching.

"The programme is designed in grooming the candidates with various skills and make them employable to different companies after their graduation," said Women's College Principal, V.O.Bhakta Kumari. The course consisted of four modules— Personality Development, General Aptitude, Communication Skills and Computer Science including training in both basic hardware and software.

Separate Centre

The centre, which started on April 10, offers a 100-day vigorous training programme for degree final year students in 11 places across the state. " The previous centres are for the students of engineering and other professional courses. This is the only centre under the Acharya Nagarjuna University that is set up for the students in B.A, B.Com, and B.Sc courses," said Ms.Bhakta Kumari.

The first batch consisted of 80 students, who were selected on the basis of a screening test. The team expressed satisfaction on the course content. "Various companies like Satyam, Infosys, etc are coming to the college in July to recruit JKC students," Ms.Kumari added.
