New Delhi: Anwer Sultan raised the country's hopes of bagging another Olympic quota place at the ISSF World Cup shooting in Cairo after being placed second in the qualifications for the men's trap event. Sultan shot two rounds of 24 and 25 to total 49 out of 50 on day one of the event on Tuesday. Three more rounds are slated to be played before the final placings are determined. The other Indians in the fray, Mansher Singh and Manavjit Singh Sandhu were placed 15th and 16th respectively among the pack of 11 shooters on 48 points. Earlier, Shagun Chowdhary finished 35th in the women's event after shooting 57 with a series of 16, 19 and 22. Seema Tomar was 44th with a score of 55 (18, 20, 17). PTI
